Konoemon Konoe (近衛 近右衛門, Konoe Konoemon) is a character from the series Negima!: Magister Negi Magi by Ken Akamatsu. He is Konoka Konoe's grandfather and the chief of the Kanto Magic Association as well as the dean of Mahora Academy. The dean’s hobby is arranging omiai for Konoka to choose a future fiancée, despite Konoka not wanting to.
Biography[]
Tension Between Kansai and Kanto[]
In the backstory, both the Kanto and the Kansai Magic Association had a feud. This was because Kansai mages did not approve of Kanto mages using Western-style magic instead of Eastern-style magic. In order to ease the schism between two sides, Konoemon Konoe, who was the head of the Kanto Magic Association, made an arranged marriage between Eishun Konoe and his own daughter. With this, the overt hostility ended and resulted in the birth of Konoka.
However, a few in Kansai (e.g. Chigusa Amagasaki) continued in their aversion to Kanto and Western mages.
Mahora Festival[]

He is currently observing the events of the final day of the Mahora Festival along with Evangeline A.K. McDowell and Chachazero, questioning her decision in not getting involved despite the repercussions that may come if Negi fails.
